In about 2003 I contracted Lahar to build me a single speed carbon fibre mountain bike with a final wrap in hemp to promote my company: this is the result. I originally requested their Tongariro model but they insisted that this would be a better option for me (100kg rider). Sadly, it turned out to have been a mistake and, at a New Zealand championship round, the bike snapped at the bottom bracket area coming over a small jump. A full refund was given but Lahar didn’t survive as a mountain bike manufacturer.
