ACS chief executive James Lowman highlighted the additional £620m earmarked for electric vehicle infrastructure, which he said would help with the charging points necessary for vehicles to switch to electric power.
The government’s paper, called “Net Zero Strategy: Build Back Greener”, said: “Significant new investment in vehicle grants and electric vehicle infrastructure will ensure we see even more green vans delivering our goods and big improvements in local public chargepoint provision.”
In addition to electric vehicles the government re-affirmed its commitment to making sure that the power used for UK workspaces and shops will also be low carbon.
